The continuing success of this long-established city-centre theatre persuaded the new management team to invest in an substantial upgrade to backstage and front-of-house services from design and installation specialists.

Context

The theatre's new creative programme was producing a renaissance in ticket sales, frequently to sell-out audiences. Finance from private investment, The National Lottery and Arts Council England provided the opportunity to invest in the theatre's infrastructure.

The Challenge

The existing services were simply falling short of modern standards to provide a comfortable environment for theatre patrons. Building services upgrades to the historic fabric had been previously been sporadic and were not-line with current regulations. Furthermore, work had to be completed whilst the theatre continued with performances.

Our Solution

Consolux M&E Consulting Ltd. created a scheme which upgraded the existing engineering services in front-of-house areas and backstage facilities for management offices, ticket sales, actors and staff.

Services also included an upgrade to the ventilation system and air conditioning in front-of-house together with electrical lighting and power. Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting were upgraded throughout.

The work was completed in phases in order to meet the requirements of a busy theatre in continuous operation.
