Knightsbridge townhouse refurbishment

Refurbishment of a listed Victorian townhouse in Knightsbridge.

Contract Value: Undisclosed
Date: Completed April 2009
Local Authority: The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

The property is a listed building in a designated Conservation Area requiring comprehensive remodelling and refurbishment to a very high standard. The project consists of two related project elements; the designated landlord area and the residential apartments.

In addition to planning constraints given the nature of the property, our client's requirement included the installation of a passenger lift, the building services to be energy efficient and for all data, lighting and heating/cooling systems to be of the highest specification.

Consolux advised on all aspects of the design and installation with particular attention to reducing lifetime energy costs of the development.

Condensing boilers, air-conditioning and low voltage lighting were fitted within all residential and public areas.

Furthermore, a Lutron room control system was installed to allow residents control of the audio, TV, lighting and motorised window blinds features, allowing seamless scene changes throughout their apartments via wall mounted and infra-red portable control panels.

Ensuring the right balance of accessibility, security and comfort within the property, Consolux also designed and installed a lift for the residents accessible via all floors.
